Sterling SHINES at Christmas

Kunes RV of Sterling has a unique relationship with their community. Although this Kunes dealership is relatively small, their impact on their city is huge. If you don’t see them at a local event, they are probably hosting their own.

The town recently held their annual Christmas Walk and Tree lighting event and, of course, Kunes RV of Sterling was there to help make the event a memorable one. (We’ve heard rumors that Santa may be trading in his sleigh for a TOY hauler after this event.)

Here are a few of the pictures and an excerpt from the local Chamber of Commerce. Great job, yet again, by the employees and management at Kunes RV of Sterling. They truly understand what it means to give back!

Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce is feeling grateful.

  · On Friday night, I had the privilege of riding with Santa and Mrs. Claus as they came into town for the Sterling Seasonal Sights and Sounds Downtown Christmas Walk and Tree Lighting. Coming in on the Horse and Carriage- provided by Carriage Springs Farm Registered Haflingers was an incredible sight seeing hundreds of people gathered for the lighting of the Tree and to celebrate the Holidays as a community. There are so many people, organizations and businesses that make this event possible. Most importantly, I want to thank this community- for attending, being patient with lines, laughing, playing games, shopping and eating downtown, and watching the Fireworks. The Atmosphere was fun and festive- thanks to all of you who attended. Thanks to our partner Sterling Main Street for collaborating with us. Thank you City of Sterling – City Hall, City of Sterling Police Departmentt, City of Sterling Fire Dept, Whiteside County Sheriff’s Office and City of Sterling Public Works Dept for all you do behind the scenes to make this event happen safely and for your patience with us and our many emails and ideas! There are so many other Grummert’s Hardware, Kunes RV of Sterling for an AMAZING set up for Santa and Mrs. Claus, Rock Falls High School Choir and Mr. Anderson for helping us secure two incredibly talented singers to kick off the evening- Ariana Diaz and Alliah Haines- Penny, Rock Falls Middle School Band, Elaine Hand for the amazing character costumes, and of course Santa and Mrs. Claus! It takes MANY volunteers to make this happen- thanks to Sterling High School FFA, SVCC Impact Program, SVACC Ambassadors, and many individuals who donated their time, talents and energy. Santa’s workshop provided games and activities to hundreds of children. Thank you to every organization, club, or business that participated. Your involvement is greatly appreciated and there were so many fun things to do! To all of the Downtown Merchants- thank you for staying open late, for offering specials, treats, and welcoming everyone into your storefronts and restaurants. Finally, Thank you to our sponsors. This event would not have happened without your support. The Sauk Valley is an amazing place and I am so very proud to be a part of it.
